Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, April 5, 2019.- Today was the first of the three days of Espíritu de Montjuïc, the great historic motoring event that recalls the golden years of Barcelona's magical mountain with a sports offer for fans and their families without equal in the whole Spain.
The return to competition of the pilots of the massive series Peter Auto and Iberian Historic Endurance has debuted Friday 5th April with free practice in the morning and then the officers in each category in the afternoon, all for pilots and machines to take the pulse of speed on the asphalt of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, at first on dry ground and as the day progressed with the wet track.
The day of Saturday is announced sunnier than Friday, which will be ideal to enjoy the show. The almost 300 classic competition entries will already be fully involved in the race and the first of them will be celebrated, ending the day with the longest of the weekend, lasting 2 hours, the Sixties' Endurance category, one of the showier with sports like the Jaguar E-Type, Ferrari 250, Porsche 911.
Saturday was an intense day for different reasons, such as the 50th anniversary of the Seat 1430 and 850 Sport Cabrio "Spider"; the homage to the career of Miguel Prieto; the Elegance Contest that this year puts in competition to an eclectic selection of 12 vehicles of unquestionable historical and sports value, all in an optimal state of conservation; and the "Repsol Racing Tour", an itinerant exhibition featuring the Honda of Marc Márquez, MotoGP World Champion and who chairs this 50-year-old show that Repsol has been involved in as a sponsor
The final day of Espiritu de Montjuïc, Sunday 7th April was very intense, with races from early morning to 6 in the afternoon. The action begun at 9.00 with the second race of The Greatest's Trophy. Next it was the turn of Heritage Touring Cup and then race 2 of the spectacular Group C Racing. These were followed by Race 2 of Classic Endurance Racing 1, 2.0 Liter Cup, the second of Endurance Racing Legends and Iberian Historic Endurance, and to conclude the Classic Endurance Racing 2. The track closes its three days of competition with the grand final parade of Clasicos-Caravana Espíritu de Montjuïc.
The Spirit of Montjuïc closed its 8th edition, the best in its history, attracting estimated 27,000 visitors! It increased the attendance of families for the varied leisure offer as well.
