A total of 25 Forgotten Classics will be on display in the theme pavilion during InterClassics Maastricht 2020. This also includes the 1950 Studebaker Champion Regal Deluxe Starlight Coupe which was designed by Raymond Lowey (1893-1986) who was born in Paris and was one of the greatest industrial designers of the 20th century. He was responsible for the restyling of the Coca-Cola bottle and the logo for the Lucky Strike cigarette brand as well as the design of the Frigidaire refrigerator, the Dutch Sprinter rail cars and the first interior of the Concorde aeroplane. During the 1950s and 1960s, Loewy was the head of Studebaker’s design division, designing the Champion, Hawk and Avanti models. His classic, the bullet-nosed Studebaker Champion Regal Deluxe Starlight Coupe, boasted many aviation-inspired details. The Studebaker will grace the new theme logo for InterClassics Maastricht and is one of the many prized specimens at the exhibition that are being made available by the Louwman Museum in The Hague (Netherlands).
InterClassics Maastricht will be held from Thursday, 16 through Sunday, 19 January 2020 at MECC Maastricht. The classic car trade exhibition traditionally attracts many buyers and enthusiasts.
